About
Hello! My name is Rachel Wright. I am 22 and a design graduate from Dundee University, Duncan of Jordanstone. I have studied BDes Hons Interior Environmental Design, achieving a First Class Honours Degree.
My work embodies spatial and architectural design. In our course we focus on service design, thinking spatially and how a user experiences the space they are in.
I like to focus in on current social issues, for example, creativity within the U.K. I like to create connections and involve a diverse range of users within a community. I like to also focus in on location and its relevance for the benefit of the community. I like to ‘connect the dots’ look for a social issue to be solved, gain interviews, seek out press to back up research, create service design probes to gather ideas and think through a business plan, brand and functionality for a space I am designing.
What is my process? Well for me the design process involves gathering research, interviews and looking into societal factors. We can retrieve information by useing service design tools and co-design tools. I love to keep a sketchbook, recording the start and end process of my design. For the design intent, we produce adequit technical drawings supported by digital work in the form of renders, or visuals created within the cad and adobe suites as well as presentation sheets and physical scale models.
Our course encourages each one of us to push our individual creative style and innovative thought process.
I love what I do and I hope you do too!
